I will dominate 'credible combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will really want to injure him. That's my intention."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - normally known for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul rather attacked former Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

However, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving massive financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
